    • A: While many of the features across the Spotfire platform are designed to be intuitive, unstructured self-guided discovery learning takes time. It also leaves the less intuitive features of the product undiscovered. Training provides a structured framework for feature introduction which speeds assimilation and leaves no knowledge gaps.

      Our training is meant to go beyond helping users perform functions and tasks. Our goal is to allow users to think and work, within an analytics and data discovery platform to unlock answers, and even questions, that our users didn't know were there.

      Many of our long-time Spotfire users and experts take, and re-take, our courses to improve their skills and unlock new capabilities. We see Spotfire training as a journey, not an event.

      • A: The cornerstones of our TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client user training are the courses, SP121 Spotfire Analyst Essentials I and SP131 Spotfire Analyst Essentials II. Although these are the first two courses in our client user training, they are by no means just beginner courses. They are full of content geared towards all levels of experience and will also set a proper foundation for the more advanced courses, SP141 Spotfire Analyst Advanced Calculations and SP151 Spotfire Analyst Advanced Configurations. All four of these courses can be taken via Mentored Online, Live Online, or Classroom delivery options. The four courses together can be purchased as a bundle called SP199 Spotfire Analyst Bootcamp.

        The Training by Role charts show suggested courses for Spotfire Analysts and Spotfire Administrators according to your learning needs. Training by Client is another helpful resource.

        • A: Check out our Free Training.  Then consider our more in-depth courses to complete your Spotfire training. View our full complement of Spotfire courses in our Course Catalog.

          • A: We have many courses geared towards the advanced user. We recommend that users have first completed our essentials courses then move onto Advanced Calculations and Advanced Configurations.  We also have courses geared towards statistical functions, customization via API (understanding of programming in the appropriate language is strongly recommended), Spotfire system administration, and Spotfire data administration.

                • A: Consider a prepaid training account. Prepaid Training can be applied to any of our delivery methods (Mentored Online, Live Online, Classroom, etc.) Bulk purchases of prepaid training credits are eligible for discount. The expiration is one year. Contact your Customer Engagement Manager at spotfireregistrar@tibco.com

                  • A: Check out our Free Training webpage, it lists all the Free Training Courses and Free Supporting Content, including Quick Reference Topics, our Community site and Forums, and TIBCO Docs which are great post-training resources.

                    • A: You can use the "login as guest" option to access our free Spotfire training materials.

                      • A: To register for mentored online training or an upcoming public training session, you can create an account and checkout with shopping cart at Viewcentral.  Register here. If you are interested in coordinating a private training for your team, please contact a customer engagement manager at spotfireregistrar@tibco.com.

                        • A: You will receive a confirmation email from spotfireregistrar@tibco.com. If you have registered for OnDemand or Unlimited Spotfire OnDemand training, this email will have instructions on how to access our training portal; or the email will contain information about your upcoming public training session if you have registered for regional training or live online training.

                          • A: Our OnDemand and Unlimited Spotfire OnDemand training has a rolling admission. Registration can be done at any time. Your access period will begin when your registration is completed, not when you first access the course. 

                            For public regional training, we suggest registering as soon as possible. Seats are limited, and registrations received after the course fills will be placed on a wait list.

                            Live Online training also is subject to a maximum number of attendees, so please register for the session as soon as possible.

                            • A: The easiest way to pay is via Credit Card. If you need to pay via Purchase Order, require a formal Quote, or must pay via another means, please contact our Customer Engagement Managers at spotfireregistrar@tibco.com.

                              If you want to pay with your existing prepaid training credits, please email spotfireregistrar@tibco.com for more details.

                              • A: The delivery method you select will depend on your users' preferred learning style, the number of users requiring training, and your training timeline. OnDemand may be the best option if you want to begin training immediately. If you prefer an instructor but only have a small group that requires training, then live online or regional classroom training may be the solution you're looking for. Larger groups may find that onsite training is a more economical option.

                                • A: For OnDemand Training, you will be given 30 days access to the material. The access duration begins at the time of registration, NOT the first time you log in. You have 30 days access to the videos, instructor-led live webinars, and course forums. Downloaded course-supporting materials, such as the exercise files and quick reference guides, can be saved to your hard drive for your personal use indefinitely.

                                  For Administrator Training (courses SP301, SP302, SP311) you will have 30 days access to the courses and 3 days access to the virtual environment. Materials like handouts, data files, demo and exercise files, can be kept as long as they are not distributed.  

                                  For Bootcamp, you will be given 60 days access to the material. The access duration begins at the time of registration, NOT the first time you log in. You have 60 days access to the videos, instructor-led live webinars, and course forums. Downloaded course-supporting materials, such as the exercise files and quick reference guides, can be saved to your hard drive for your personal use indefinitely.

                                  Unlimited Spotfire OnDemand training has a one year term. Your access term begins within one business day of purchase and ends one year later.

                                  • A:  The student will have access to the course forum, which our instructors monitor. Some of our courses also include optional scheduled webcast sessions, led by an instructor, for which enrolled students can register.

                                    Unlimited Spotfire OnDemand training does not include instructor interactions. 

                                    • A: Classroom training attendees will be given access to our online materials for a limited time following the training engagement.

                                      In addition, there are a variety of free training resources including:

                                      • A: No, the Spotfire book is no longer being offered.

                                        • A: Yes, our training is not your typical slide-show presentation. Nor is learning accomplished by simply watching demonstrations. Instead, students are expected to follow-along with instructor-led demonstrations using the software installed on their machine. In addition, independent learning is facilitated with structured exercises that will require using the appropriate version of Spotfire

                                          • A: TIBCO Education offers two levels of assessment: a Knowledge Assessment, which can be taken following participation in our Spotfire courses; and a Certification. For more information about our testing options, please click HERE.
